Unsure as to whether you are representing a narcissistic client? Or might you have represented one in the past without realising it? Have a look at my 30 point checklist here to help you decide.
If you are a family lawyer struggling with a difficult narcissistic individual, either on the other side, or as your own client, help is at hand. Please see our books (written with Karin Walker, UK family lawyer, for details). To read a sample chapter of 'Narcissism and Family Law - a Practitioner's Guide', click here.

If you have a client going through a divorce with a narcissist who you feel could benefit from support, coaching or mentoring please do get in touch with me, or if you'd prefer, do refer them directly to me. The narcissistic spouse will usually ramp up their abuse tactics during separation and divorce, and I aim to give specific strategies to help the client to gain control of the situation, both emotionally and practically. In particular, a narcissistic individual will weaponise both the legal system and their own children against the spouse, and rack up tens of thousand of pounds in unnecessary legal bills, due to frustrating delays, goalpost shifting, and poor choice of out of court resolution options. This is money that can be preserved by your client for the marital pot, saving them money, and you your sanity and professionalism.
Our Podcast series, 'Narcissists in divorce - the lure the loss and the law' is aimed both at family lawyers and the general public. Here is a taster episode, below:
